Give Shelter Dogs a break from the kennel
Paws Out Adventures is a Hands ’N Paws program that gives shelter dogs a break from the kennel and a chance to enjoy real-life experiences, all in one day.
Approved participants take a shelter dog out for a few hours or the day for walks, car rides, patio time, or relaxing at home, then return them the same day. These short adventures help dogs decompress, show their true personalities, and often help them get adopted faster.
It’s not fostering and there’s no long-term commitment, just one meaningful day that can make a big difference.
why paws out adventures matter
Life in a shelter can be stressful, even for the best dogs. A day out:
-
Reduces kennel stress
-
Helps us learn how dogs behave in real-world settings
-
Gives potential adopters valuable insight
-
Creates positive experiences for dogs and people alike
Sometimes, one good day is all it takes to change a dog’s future.
